Gratton limited started out as an Electrical Contracting Company (Gratton Electrical) in 1984. Based on the simple principle of giving its customers quality workmanship and materials, together with friendly helpful customer service, the business thrived.

Over the years we worked with some great tradesmen (together with some, not so good!).

In 2004, Gratton Ltd was formed with the idea of combining all the principles which held us in good stead, together with the backup of the great tradesmen, whom we have worked with for many years.

We are a small friendly company and we are looking to stay that way. For that reason, we try to only take on single projects at any one time. This way we can offer the very best service to our customers. We are very comfortable dealing in projects ranging up to £500,000.

Working in the beautiful city of Bath for many years, has given us the advantage of being in tune with conservation and restoration requirements. We are very proud to have been involved with works in some of the most prestigious addresses of a World Heritage City. Nothing gives a true tradesman more satisfaction than to see a finished job which will be appreciated by so many people for so many years to come.

Overview

We are very proud to now be considered one of Bath’s premier builders. Last year, we had the honour of being awarded an LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Quality Award for a renovation and extension project, which we completed in Saltford.

We have gained experience in most areas of construction (you can never say ‘all areas’, as things are always evolving). We have converted boring basic buildings into modern contemporary gems. We have altered many listed, tired, rundown buildings into beautiful homes. Extended and converted domestic and commercial buildings.

We pride ourselves at taking on projects which others shy away from. We’ve never had a problem that we haven’t been able to solve. We were very pleased to be asked, several years ago, to construct a pennant stone balcony on the rear of a listed building in one of Baths most prestigious streets, a feat which no other builder alive at the moment can claim!
